Youth Action for Research and the Development of New Ideas (JARDIN) is an association created in Cameroon on July 14, 2000. Its headquarters are located in Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon, in the heart of Africa. As its name indicates, JARDIN seeks out and explores every possibility to bring together people from diverse backgrounds and to provide guidance that fosters the development of individuals, villages, and cities.
The association regularly organises trips to different regions of the country and sometimes to other African countries. JARDIN has a real and solid presence within several traditional chiefdoms in Cameroon, particularly the traditional chiefdom of Sodiko, which serves as its base community. It regularly immerses its members in cultural festivals, museums, and tourist sites of the communities with which it collaborates. In its mission to support women and youth, JARDIN has created and runs, together with the chiefdoms, a Youth and Animation Center called "ESAPO," which offers numerous activities and programs to its visitors.
JARDIN has also established an aquatic tourism circuit, which allows those who request it to navigate the various waterways and branches of the Wouri River, the river that gave its name to the department. This aquatic tourism circuit also provides the opportunity to explore and enter the mangrove and, if desired, to participate in reforestation activities.
JARDIN also offers accommodation options in an environment and conditions reflecting traditional Africa. JARDIN’s current ambition is to establish partnerships beyond Cameroon or the African continent, for visits, discoveries, and diverse reciprocal exchanges between members of all partner organisations and associations.
