delivering partnerships and collaborations that bring mutual benefit. Operating within the Industry & Destination Development directorate, Lee’s focus is very much on responsible and inclusive growth. From 2016-2019 he led VisitScotland’s ScotSpirit Breaks initiative, a partnership which enabled thousands of families on low income to enjoy the benefits of a short break in Scotland. VisitScotland has worked closely with industry and government to ensure that inclusive tourism is a key driver of recovery. Alongside this, the organisation is playing a lead role in the development of Scotland as a globally recognised low-carbon destination: it is the first national tourism organisation in the world to declare a climate emergency and sign up to the Tourism Declares initiative, committing to action for a greener tourism. Ongoing, Lee’s focus is on generating best practice exchange to inform and inspire meaningful change on this journey, where tourism is part of the solution.
