Participation of ISTO in the 4th International Fair of Sustainable Tourism in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

ISTO was represented by Batoufam Tourism and Leisure (BTL) at the 4th International Sustainable Tourism Fair in Yaoundé, Cameroon organized by Mercatour on the theme of the revival of post-covid tourism activities.

Through the association Batoufam Tourisme et Loisirs (BTL), the International Social Tourism Organization (ISTO) had the opportunity to participate in the 4th International Sustainable Tourism Fair held in Yaoundé, Cameroon. This event organized by Mercatour on the theme of the post-covid revival of tourism activities in Cameroon brought together many actors of sustainable tourism in front of more than two hundred people. Gamaliel Njoya, representative of Batoufam Tourism and Leisure and ISTO, participated in the round table entitled: "The consolidation of social tourism as a basis for the revival of tourism activities in Cameroon".

During his presentation, BTL exposed in front of his audience and in a practical way how social tourism can partially solve the problem of the decentralization of the Cameroonian tourism offer and the equal distribution of the benefits from tourism activities. This participation of ISTO in the round table has allowed the highlighting of the advantages linked to the practice of social tourism in Cameroon.

Furthermore, ISTO through the intermediary of the Batoufam Tourism and Leisure Association had the opportunity to be interviewed on the Cameroonian national television channel Crtv News. During this interview dated September 28, 2022, Gamaliel Njoya proceeded to a synthetic presentation of ISTO from its foundation until today as well as the presentation of the criteria of membership and the advantages for the tourist associations to be members of ISTO. In conclusion, ISTO's participation in Mercatour with the support of the Batoufam Tourism and Leisure Association provided an opportunity to inform the participants of the fair and the television viewers about the concept of social tourism as well as the identity and role of the organization.
