The 12th edition of the Italian Association and Cooperative Tourism Exchange (BITAC) was held in Trento (Italy) on 4 and 5 December 2019 under the theme "Far from mass tourism and close to the people".
Organized by the Alliance of Italian Cooperatives, which includes Confcooperative and Legacoop - two ISTO member organizations - in partnership with the Italian Association for Responsible Tourism (AITR) also at ISTO, this event is a fine example of the approach sought by cooperative tourism, which is to believe in the values of hospitality and the enhancement of the culture of the region.
On this occasion, ISTO Director Charles-E. Bélanger, made a presentation on the organization's new activities and met with several members present at the BITAC, which welcomed more than 150 participants from all over Italy.
For this edition of the BITAC, the organizers inaugurated the BITAC awards, which enabled three organizations to distinguish themselves for their achievements in terms of innovation, accessibility and impact on the territory. As for the B to B workshop, it allows not only the meeting but also the beginning of negotiations between buyers and sellers, all from the associative and cooperative sectors.
