ISTO Americas co-organises the I Euro-Mediterranean - Americas Forum "Cultural Itineraries - Social Tourism".

The I Euro-Mediterranean - Americas Forum "Cultural Itineraries - Social Tourism" was held on 13 and 14 December in Pontevedra, Spain. This event was organised by the Phoenicians Route - Cultural Itinerary of the Council of Europe and the Provincial Council of Pontevedra together with the Secretariat for the Americas of the International Social Tourism Organisation, as well as with the collaboration and support of the Organisation of Ibero-American States - OEI.

The Forum was the occasion to ratify and present the collaboration agreement between the Route of the Phoenicians and ISTO Americas, signed in June 2020, which aims to promote tourism with cultural content and social sense in the geographical areas covered respectively by these institutions.

For this purpose, round tables, conferences and a technical visit were held, with the participation of European and American speakers, who participated in person or virtually. The president of ISTO, Isabel Novoa, participated in the opening ceremony together with other high authorities co-organisers of the Forum. Then, Sergio Rodríguez, president of ISTO Americas, accompanied by Antonio Barone, director of the Phoenician Route, ratified and presented the collaboration agreement between the two institutions. This was followed by the presentation by Verónica Gómez, director of ISTO Americas and Manuel Peregrina, coordinator of the Spanish Network of the Route of the Phoenicians, of the actions of the pilot project of social tourism in the Route of the Phoenicians.
