an initiative that she undertook together with other members of her community with the aim of offering travellers not only hospitality, food and rest in their homes, but also a cultural experience of feeling the Inca spirit, transmitting part of their history, their Andean cosmovision, their handicraft and agricultural knowledge, next to the imposing Temple of Wiracocha. "Our undertaking began in 2001 with 13 families from the community who shared the same purpose. With the support of some organisations we were able to obtain funds that allowed us to train ourselves to serve the travellers. Eventually we made an agreement with a travel agency to bring tourists. Today we work with five agencies in Cusco, which offer a package that includes accommodation for one night, full board and a pottery workshop.

In this respect, she works on the deployment of a balanced tourism, a development lever for the host territories and populations. Member of the board of directors of ISTO, Treasurer of the ATD association (actors of sustainable tourism) and administrator of Fair Trade France, involved for more than 25 years in social, then sustainable and fair tourism, Caroline Mignon also works daily on local actions aiming at raising awareness of the largest number of people to the challenges of ecological and social transition.

He holds a degree in moral and political philosophy and a post-graduate diploma in Heritage and Museology obtained at the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Douala. He is also a young researcher at the University of Douala at the Laboratory of History and Science of Heritage, and a member of the coordinating committee and in charge of communication for the International Social Tourism Organisation, Africa section (ISTO).
