The SUST Tourism project, presented in the framework of the ISTO International Week, aims to strengthen the capacity of universities in Angola and Cape Verde to offer innovative training in sustainable tourism, which boosts employability, entrepreneurship and economic development in an inclusive and resilient way.

The initiative has opted for a modular specialisation course in innovative sustainable tourism, aimed at both students and professionals in the sector. The programme integrates key approaches such as environmental and cultural protection, digitalisation, gender equality, inclusion and participation of local communities. It also promotes close collaboration between universities, companies and public actors, fostering shared governance models and entrepreneurial mentoring services.

This webinar, organised by KOAN Consulting, will showcase the results of the SUST Tourism project and how higher education can play a transformative role in achieving more responsible, accessible and socially engaged tourism in Africa. A proposal to rethink tourism from the perspective of knowledge, cooperation and territorial impact.
